In a recent survey conducted by "India Breakfast Habits Study" covering four metro cities to determine the most nutritious morning meal, nama idli sambar was found to be the most nutritious and a complete meal....Isnt that cool?!
Most kids will prefer dosa to idli and I was no exception during my school, college days but during my pregnancy life changed, changing my food habits and cravings too....I so loved idli(and am still loving it too) and wanted it almost daily and that kept me wondering if the lil one inside was a great idli lover...To my surprise yes mittu loves idli and thats my greatest relief during travel as thats the safest item to feed kids especially when we are travelling. Last week when I was planning for the lunch menu, it reminded me that I haven't posted this mini idli sambar combo so here it is for you...

Here is the lunch box menu for today:
Mini Idli
Tiffin Sambar / Sambar
My Notes:
- You can make either tiffin sambar with a variety of vegetables like potato, carrot etc. Or make lunch sambar which will be easy to finish the lunch menu too.
- I will sure post an easy sambar recipe amma makes.
- If you dont have mini idli pot, then make regular idlis and cut them into pieces and pack it.
- You can even add a tsp of ghee in sambar while packing which will be very flavourful.
