Pongal Sambar is a classic combo, to make it more healthy I used thinai this time.I make varagu pongal often and its our most favorite, this time replaced varagu with thinai and it turned out quite good so thought to share it in kids breakfast series.Pongal is heavy so its perfect to serve for breakfast keeps you full till lunch.
I was craving for venpongal during my pregnancy, yes I loved it so much that I even asked amma to make it atleast once a week.....You get all pamperings during pregnancy and I made use if it completely. :) I used to order only pongal whenever we dined outside during that time that mittu used to tease me saying that the baby is going to eat only pongal when it comes out haha :)
- For thinai give atelast 4-5 whistles.Other than that you can use same recipe as varagu pongal.
- Use ghee generously.
