Bajra Roti is a staple roti in Rajasthan though these days it is made in all other regions as well.Bajra / Pearl millet or Kambu is a very healthy millet which has great cooling effect.Bajra Roti with lahsun chutney and raw onions is a great combination.The rotis are slightly crispier at the edges with a crumbly texture.We loved it with the spicy lehsun chutney and raw onion slices.

I used homemade bajra flour, you can either make bajra flour at home or buy from any supermarket.

Bajra Roti Recipe

Bajra Flour - 1 cup
Wheat Flour - 3 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Water - as required


  1. In a mixing bowl,take bajra flour,wheat flour and required salt,mix well.Then add water little by little.How to make Bajra Roti Recipe - Step1
  2. Knead it to a soft dough.Make small lemon sized balls.

  3. Take  a ball, place it inbetween a plastic sheet press it with a flat based container to flatten it.

  4. Carefully remove it from the plastic sheet,make all the rotis similarly.Heat  a tawa,now carefully  transfer the rotis to the tawa.How to make Bajra Roti Recipe - Step4
  5. Cook on on one side then transfer to direct flame and cook for few seconds.Brush it with ghee or butter.

Serve hot with any chutney of your choice.
